If you are Lions-gate and you have the Saw series on your hands then it looks like eight years is more than long enough to go back for a remake.
If you thought that seven Saw films were not enough then you are in luck, as Bloody Disgusting reports that Jigsaw & Co. are set for a reboot. The negotiations are still in their infancy, but Saw will be back , slash and torment us all over again.
I was a massive fan of the original and thought that it was a worthy entry into the canon of great horror movies. Plus it’s $100 million at the box office was an impressive feat. I’m also aware that the horror genre is one of the most lucrative in the business, as they are relatively cheap to make, you don’t need a big star to carry them and they appeal to a wide audience. Surely though, there are more creative ideas floating around Hollywood than remaking a movie that’s less than a decade old
