The Walking Dead Season 3 Review

We're getting close to the premiere of The Walking Dead Season 3 and if you're a fan of the comics, then you know what is coming up after that finale last spring. AMC has now posted a video featuring series creator Robert Kirkman giving us a private tour of the prison from Season 3, with all the details that you need when creating an abandoned post-apocalyptic location.

Based on the comic book series written by Kirkman and published by Image Comics, "The Walking Dead" stars Andrew Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Steven Yeun, Norman Reedus, Chandler Riggs, Lauren Cohan, Scott Wilson, IronE Singleton, Melissa McBride, David Morrissey and Danai Gurira. The series is executive produced by Glen Mazzara, Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert with Greg Nicotero as co-executive producer.
The Walking Dead returns Sunday, October 14 at 9pm ET/PT.

Iron Man 3 Suit

About a 2 months ago we showed you a selection of Iron Man suits, all lined up in Tony Stark’s lab, and asked which one is best. Iron Man himself has made his choice, revealing which bad-ass suit of armor he’ll don for Iron Man 3.

This photos gives us an idea of exactly what Iron Man will look like in this latest film:

Johnny Deep Next Movie?!

Why are pirates awesome? Because they Arrrrr!! So awesome in fact, that Johnny Depp is keen to come back for a fifth installment of the massively successful Pirates of the Caribbean series. It looks like he might have to find an island somewhere to bury his treasure, though, as Depp is reported to be getting $116 million for reprising his role as Captain Jack Sparrow.

Johnny is being very careful he does not sign on for too many films. He doesn’t want to ruin his career with overexposure like John Travolta or Nic Cage did. This huge deal for Pirates means he will be able to pick his other roles very carefully on the strength of their script rather than their salary.

Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed last year that a script for Pirates 5 is in the works, but no other details are known at this time. Having encountered Davy Jones, the Flying Dutchman, the Kraken and the Fountain of Youth, I wonder what story arc Pirates of the Caribbean 5 will take?
The two sequels Dead Man’s Chest and At World’s End were overly ambitious, bloated affairs that lost sight of what made the first movie so great the comic interplay between the characters. On Stranger Tides went someway to rectifying this, giving us a more stripped down, more Depp led movie. Let’s hope the new one can be even better.

Nicolas Cage Look Forword for Expendables 3

I remember when the posters first came out for The Expendables boasting names like Stallone, Statham, Li, Lundgren, Couture, Austin, Crews, Rourke, Willis. It seemed a dizzying dream to have an action movie so overstuffed with unapologetically burly and badass stars. And the resulting movie was as insane as it was enjoyable. Then came news of Expendables 2 and promises of even more macho matinee idols (Liam Hemsworth, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris) being added to the cast. Now, with this supped up testosterone fest set to hit theaters Friday, the franchise's producer Avi Lerner shared who he has in mind for cast expansion in what's still only a theoretical The Expendables 3.

Speaking with Total Film, Lerner was quick to namedrop about the third entry, telling the agog reporter,
" We’ve approached Clint Eastwood to be one of the guys, we’ve got a character in mind for him. We’re talking to Harrison Ford. [And we want] Wesley Snipes when he comes back from prison. I’ll give you one more name, we’ve got Nicolas Cage to play [one of the characters].”
It seems that Cage would sign on to The Expendables 3, as he could use the paychecks and would likely be amped to face-off against/chew the scenery with so many of their action hero peers.

Will SASHA BARRESE Come Back For HANGOVER III

If you appeared in either The Hangover or its raunchy follow up, there’s a better-than-average chance Todd Phillips has a part for you in The Hangover Part III. Almost every former cast member has been confirmed for the third (and allegedly final) Hangover comedy. The latest veteran added to the ensemble of the new film? Sasha Barrese, the frustrated beauty whose wedding to Doug (Justin Bartha) was jeopardized in the first film.

They’ll all join series staples Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha, though it’s still unclear what anyone will be doing in the sequel.

Star Trek Sequel Latest Title

Star Trek Sequel may have found its title. After months of referring to J.J. Abrams' next film The Untitled Star Trek Sequel, it seems as though the official name has been revealed and it is: Star Trek Into Darkness.

Star Trek Into Darkness (if that's what it ends up being called) will feature returning stars Quinto, Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, and Anton Yelchin and feature newcomers such as Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve, Peter Weller and Noel Clarke. Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Damon Lindelof wrote the script and the movie will be in theaters on May 17, 2013.

The Horrors of Smiley

This has been around a bit, but now that Smiley has found a theatrical release plan, it's time to re-introduce it to some of you who have not seen the trailer for the film.
AMC Theaters and Fever Productions are joining forces to bring this slasher offering to select AMC theaters on October 12th.
The story of the film follows a mentally fragile college student named Ashley (Caitlin Gerard) who, after learning of an urban legend in which a mysterious serial killer named “Smiley” can be summoned through the Internet, must decide whether she is losing her mind or becoming Smiley's next victim. Smiley also stars Melanie Papalia and Andrew James Allen, with Roger Bart, Keith David and Liza Weil rounding out the cast.

Is Vin Diesel Going To Be The Final Witch Hunter?

Vin Diesel is circling The Last Witch Hunter, a film in development over at Lionsgate/Summit. I hesitated to report this one as The Wrap has had a spotty history as of late with their genre reporting, but when producer Adam Goldworm re-tweeted this bit of news, it gave the report a bit of weight.

  • Breck Eisner (The Crazies) is in line to direct from a script by Cory Goodman (Priest).
  • Goldworm is executive producing the film and Emmet/Furla Films is producing.
  • The story concerns a witch hunter - the last of his kind - who must stop a group of witches and warlocks from reproducing.
Vin Diesel, who recently wrapped, Riddick is now shooting Fast 6.

"SAW" could be about to get a reboot

If you are Lions-gate and you have the Saw series on your hands then it looks like eight years is more than long enough to go back for a remake.

If you thought that seven Saw films were not enough then you are in luck, as Bloody Disgusting reports that Jigsaw & Co. are set for a reboot. The negotiations are still in their infancy, but Saw will be back , slash and torment us all over again.

I was a massive fan of the original and thought that it was a worthy entry into the canon of great horror movies. Plus it’s $100 million at the box office was an impressive feat. I’m also aware that the horror genre is one of the most lucrative in the business, as they are relatively cheap to make, you don’t need a big star to carry them and they appeal to a wide audience. Surely though, there are more creative ideas floating around Hollywood than remaking a movie that’s less than a decade old

Marvel Is Getting Daredevil Back?

Just after the fresh news that Marvel Studios might be welcoming home both Silver Surfer and Galactus, a Fox shaped spanner has been thrown into the works, hinting at the possibility that instead, the blind lawyer superhero will be making a Marvel comeback.
If you’ve been waiting, hoping and wishing for Marvel to get their hands back on the rights of some of the properties they had sold away in the past, then today is your lucky day. No, they’re not getting back Spider-Man or the X-Men, but Daredevil could be in play… Which means the red dude could be making an appearance in The Avengers 2 and WOAH! even getting his own franchise.
Norrin Radd, aka Silver Surfer, and Galan, aka Galactus were handed over to Fox a while back. Recently, the word on the grapevine has been that Fox may be returning these tormented and terrifying super villains to Marvel. According to Deadline, however, Fox is now more concerned about its Fantastic Four movie than it is about a Daredevil reboot, which means that Marvel may get Daredevil back in the fold.
This turn in events for Marvel could be a blessing in disguise. It’s not that we’re not excited to see the two villains appear in Josh Trank’s (Chronicle) take on the Fantastic Four, but we’re thinking that Daredevil being handed back to 20th Century Fox is very big news indeed. As he’s a superhero, rather than super villain, it would give Marvel much more power to play around with the character and his future on-screen endeavors.
Fox had been trying to get something started with a Daredevil reboot for some time now, ever since the god-awful Ben Affleck and Mark Steven Johnson damaged the property with their sub-standard 2003 movie. But it looks like Fox’s focus is now steadily fixed on The Fantastic Four. So, could this mean that we also see the Silver Surfer or Galactus could be popping up again with Stan Lee’s fantastic quartet? What are your thoughts on the character crossovers? Would you rather see Marvel reclaim the rights to Daredevil? Will Fox do either character comic book justice? Does it even matter, as long as Ben Affleck never rears his ugly superhero head again?

Real Horror Movies

Are you sitting comfortably? I’m about to reveal that your worst nightmares are all real, TOTALLY real! You thought The Exorcist was just a movie? Well think again, turns out that actually happened! To a boy! In Maryland!
But for some context to your nightmares I’ll explain why I’m ruining your weekend. You have been warned…

R.I.P. Michael Clarke Duncan (1957-2012)

The star of The Green Mile and Daredevil has passed away at the age of 54.

Tragic news arrived this Labor Day: Oscar-nominated actor Michael Clarke Duncan has passed away at the age of 54. The news came from Duncan's fiancee, Reverend Omarosa Manigault, and his publicist, Joy Fehily. Duncan had suffered a heart attack on July 13 of this year. In her statement, Fehily says Duncan "never fully recovered."
